Writing Sinhalese (Sri Lanka)

1. to download and install a font supporting Sinhalese characters, such as:
   • "Malithi Web" font, at http://www.fonts.lk/download/Malithi%20Web.html
   • "DinaminaUniWeb" font, at http://www.fonts.lk/download/SinhalaIE.html

2. to install a program to easily type the characters, such as
   • the program "Keyboard", downloadable from this site at http://www.webalice.it/sandro.carnevali/tastiera/keyboard.htm

In the pictures down here you see the program "Keyboard", wtith the keyboard "Sinhalese (Font: "Malithi Web")" or "Sinhalese (Font: "DinaminaUniWeb")" selected in the menu "India".
You get a keyboard showing the characters you can type using the mouse clicking in the different keys. The text may be saved as a rtf file, readable in Word or many programs more, or simply copied and pasted.
